PRAISE OF THE SLOTH
(With apologies to those who seek work but can not find, but it
that's another matter)
the record, I must be one of the hardest working lazy in this country. The truth is that I suck myself not see.
Who said that work ennobles the man? Some idiot or some advantage, no doubt, someone from using their own dignity as a benefit at the expense of others' labor.
Surge "dignity of being a third or more of your life doing something that most of the time it if you could choose?
And what we call dignity? If we look to the dictionary, the words "dignity", "worthy" and its derivatives vex a false story and Chinese, with apologies to the Chinese. We read things like "gravity", "propriety" and "honorary position," Archbishop perks "... and to cast forth to shake.
Above all, it should be noted that whenever we speak of "unworthy" generally refers to crude, vile, low status, scoundrel, contemptible, despicable, unfair ... Well, no sir, yes it is an indignity. What is truly worthy
very different issue and has nothing to do with the infatuation that is applied, is often away from work, from office, the social significance of the alleged price and more about self-esteem, the true value.
anyone tell me what animal you work for something else to eat and almost always right? Do the rest of your life doing? Nothing, rest, contemplate, hang out. Well, yes, there are some who do not stop "working" to find the food, always lurking, always active, but that's more survival than desire, the need for taste. There is more dignity in the cow sitting in the shade of an oak tree in the same cow chewing grass with neck deep in the grass.
The idleness and laziness have always been frowned upon but is there from where the great creations of mankind. What then should be applied to these creations effort to materialize? Okay, but almost always born of contemplation, the eyes at rest, the dolce far niente, niente although it is always relative. Much more effort
sometimes laziness at work, many more will, without doubt much more creativity.
When one learns that the work comes from the Latin word tripalium, yoke made with three wood to torment criminals, begins to suspect that someone has sold a bike that does not work. If, moreover, in our Judeo-Christian tradition, the work is considered a divine punishment, it gets ugly face.
prefer the effort to work, the obligation will, laziness intentionally mandatory dedication, lack of desire to need.
remember that song by Paul Carbonell talking about a certain Pascual, disinherited hard worker with no future to everyone insisted every time I tried to do something: "Pascual, Pascual, you to yours that is working " and Poor finishing by saying as he lay dying: "Work, work ... and for whom? "
Oh yes, yes, you have to eat ... but do you really need to work much for that? Is it necessary to stand up to tell us that work dignified? What put us to the damn ant pests such as the cricket pitch?
If we also note that most work in the interests of the minority is when you feel like shooting yourself in the grass, the cow, in the shade of the same oak tree, and say to praising the work: For work you, man, work, and leave me to myself in peace.
